RICHARD M. HOBLITZELL, MD

RICHARD M. HOBLITZELL, MDRichard M. Hoblitzell, M.D., believes that "the best medicine is prevention." Though 80 percent of people will be affected by back pain at some point during their lives, he asserts that the vast majority of problems can be prevented or at least improved with regular exercise, weight control, a balanced diet and the use of proper body mechanics.

When working with those suffering from spinal pain, he tends to be conservative as far as pursuing surgical treatments. Many options are available to his patients outside the operating room, including steroid injections, physical therapy and radio-frequency oblation to decrease back pain. Dr. Hoblitzell also treats a variety of other orthopaedic ailments in his practice using both surgical and non-surgical methods. "Making people better" is his favorite part of the job, he says.
