Doctor's Spotlight - John D. Bever, M.D. - Part 2

JOHN D. BEVER, MD
 While innovation has undoubtedly advanced medicine, ultimately, it's the human aspect of care that attracted Dr. John D. Bever to practice when he began his career in 1980. "You see a patient come in hobbling on crutches because his hip hurts so badly. You replace the hip, and then he comes back six weeks later, and he's started playing golf again. Orthopaedics can be very fulfilling in that way. You get to see some pretty dramatic turnaround in people's quality of life," he says.
As a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Bever has helped countless patients in his more than three decades as a physician.
This fall, Dr. Bever plans to retire from medical practice and spend more time on his hobbies, such as jogging, gardening and golf, as well as traveling with his wife and partner of more than four decades, Sue.
