Surgeon and sports medicine specialist Bruce Holladay, M.D., weighs in on the latest in care and treatment.
Progressive Biologic Treatment
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment is available for qualifying athletes suffering from overuse and traumatic injuries. Sports Medicine specialist Bruce Holladay, M.D., says that Dr. Matt DesJardins of the Commonwealth Orthopaedic Centers team administers PRP treatment, in which he can concentrate a patient's own cells and reintroduce them to the injured area to accelerate and improve the body's normal healing response.
