SAMANTHA ZOULEK, PT, DPT, ATC

Plantar FasciaThe plantar fascia is a band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot, reaching from the bottom of the heel to the base of the toes. Plantar fasciitis is caused from an overstretching of the plantar fascia, causing small tears in the tissue. Many times overstretching occurs in the plantar fascia as a result of limited mobility at the ankle and forefoot.

Physical therapy can be helpful in treating plantar fasciitis. You can learn about Commonwealth Orthopaedic Centers' Physical Therapy services here.
